Privacy Policy

WYM ("What You Mean") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our iOS application.

What We Collect

We collect as little data as possible.

• Screenshots you upload: When you upload a text conversation screenshot for analysis, the image is sent to our secure servers for AI-powered processing. We do not store, save, or retain your screenshots after analysis is complete. Images are processed in real-time and immediately discarded.
• Random device identifier: A randomly generated ID is stored on your device and sent with each request for rate limiting purposes only. This ID is not linked to your Apple ID, name, or any personal information.
• Analysis results: Your analysis results (vibe scores, diagnoses, flags) are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to your analysis history.
• Subscription data: If you subscribe to WYM Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information.

What We Don't Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
• We do not create user accounts
• We do not track your location
• We do not store your text message screenshots
• We do not sell any data to third parties
• We do not use advertising SDKs or tracking pixels

How Analysis Works

Before your first analysis, WYM asks for your explicit consent to share data with a third-party AI service. When you submit a screenshot for analysis:

• The image is sent securely (HTTPS) to our API server
• Our server forwards the image to a third-party AI service for processing (see Third-Party Services below)
• The analysis result is returned to your device
• The image is immediately discarded — it is never stored on our servers or by the AI provider

Your Texting DNA profile is also generated using a third-party AI service. In this case, only aggregated analysis summaries (vibe scores, flags, diagnoses) are sent — not your original screenshots.

Local Data Storage

WYM stores the following data locally on your device:

• Your analysis history (up to 50 past reads)
• Your Texting DNA profile
• Your tracked contacts and tags
• App preferences (onboarding status, usage counts)

This data never leaves your device and is deleted if you uninstall the app. You can clear your history at any time from within the app.

Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services. Each provider maintains privacy and security standards that provide equal or greater protection for your data:

• OpenAI: We use OpenAI's API to process screenshot analyses and generate Texting DNA profiles. Data sent to OpenAI includes: screenshot images (for analysis) and aggregated analysis summaries (for profiles). OpenAI processes this data in real-time and does not store or use API data to train their models. OpenAI is SOC 2 Type II compliant and maintains enterprise-grade data security. • Cloudflare: Our API server runs on Cloudflare Workers, which acts as a secure intermediary between your device and OpenAI. Cloudflare processes requests in real-time and does not store your screenshot data. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Apple StoreKit: Subscription management is handled by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

User Consent

WYM requires your explicit consent before sending any data to a third-party AI service. Before your first use, the app displays a consent prompt explaining what data is shared. You must agree before any analysis can proceed. You can reset this consent by reinstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

WYM is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
